I was born in 1970.

I began making photographs when I was 16 years old.

In 1989 I studied Professional Photography at the excellent School of Design, Wellington Polytechnic. I was awarded Portfolio of the Year.

I was one of six students to be awarded an AGFA scholarship for a further year of study.

In 1990 I began making portraits for a living. I have continued ever since.

Years later, I began teaching others how to make portraits - at Massey University. I loved it.

I stopped teaching when I got too busy making portraits for others.

I married Kerry in 2000.

Adrian is my oldest step-son. He's 23 now.

Adam's the next. He's 21 [and technically I'm his aunt, not his stepmum, but that's another story...I love him like he's my son.]

Rosie's my only girl. She's just turned 19.

Jasper's 17, and the last of my stepchildren.

I gave birth to my son David in 2003.

When David was 3, I had an exhibition about being a MOTHER

In 2007, i had another MOTHER show.

And continued to make portraits for others, while my primary work was caring for David.

Our marriage ended in 2008. I was devastated.

But I got through.

And began working again.

And taking time to appreciate all the good things I had.

2009 marks my 20 years as a photographer. And the THIS IS WHERE I LIVE exhibition marks the beginning of a new period in my life.
