Medium:Digital mixed media artwork [Archival pigment ink on Hahnemuhle fine art paper, with significant overpainting using: pastel, pencil, ink].

Frame: Dimensions: [118W x 130L]cm. Hand-built wide off-white gesso flat frame, with AR70 musuem glass.  

Original:‍ ‍This artwork is an original 1/1, plus one artist proof. Note that there will be no edition of prints made.

Details: Pay particular attention to the figure in the upper right hand corner.  It is a shadowy figure, representing the dark shadows we all deal with in this lifetime.

Process: I painted the elements within the artwork onto canvas, which I then photographed. I then began the long process of manipulating the elements within Photoshop to create the digital image, which was then printed onto archival Hahnemuhle photorag paper using archival inks. I then spent a couple of weeks overpainting the print very carefully in pastel, pencil and ink in order to give the image depth and detail, make it come alive. The result is a complex mixed media artwork which cannot be repeated.

Note: Blue Girls Walking will be produced as PostArt. These will be small reproduction in the form of simple prints on Muncen non-archival paper, with no overpainting, signature or edition. The very small size of the reproductions comparative to the artwork itself, and the straightforward quality of the prints makes them stand well clear of the original while offering people who have responded to this artwork the chance to have a likeness of it in their home.  The sale of these reproductions also enables me as an artist to continue being able to get into the studio and continuing to paint.
