NOTES TO WORK

This photograph, from the HOME2020 collection, is about the beauty that comes from chaos. Or perhaps more accurately, sits alongside.

I found the old print of a painting of a lady done in 1969, at a second hand shop, and shoved it on the wall during the reno of my studio, put some gold stickers of crosses on her, gave her a gold crown. I was sitting having a coffee one day and was struck by the beauty of the picture and the rough raw wall, and made a photograph. After the final print came back, I painted each of the crosses on her dress with gold, painted the crown. Coloured in the print to make it vibrant again. Then on the upper left hand corner of the print, I wrote the words "FW was here 2020". I've always wanted to be a grafitti artist but am far too well behaved, so this is my version of grafitti, lol. This artwork is about me making my mark on this beautiful studio, about me loving the imperfect perfectness of the grace of the woman together with the plastic bag poking out of the broken wall.

TURNAROUND TIME

My studioprints are made to order. At this time of year, turnaround time for an unframed print is 14 working days. If you’d like a framed artwork, the order needs to be made by 1 December to guarantee you will have it to you by 24 December.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

If this artwork speaks to you, and you’d like a few months to pay it via lay-by,, that’s sweet with me. I want my work to go to the homes of people who love it, and if I can facilitate that by doing payment over time, then that’s a win-win for us both, eh.. Email me to start the convo about it.
