In 2005, I inserted this hydrangea leaf into my diary. I found it a decade later, photographed it right where it was, on the diary pages, drew around it, photoshopped it to make it exactly as I wanted, blew it up big.
There’s something beautiful about seeing something private blown up large. To be able to see the detail of the veins of the leaf. It’s about saying, this is important. This simple quiet leaf matters. Is beautiful. A leaf is as important as any other thing on this earth, don’t you think.
