Notes to the work: I made this artwork for my 2018 exhibition, A private view. My Mum sent me a text while she was alive which said “sleep well I am still here”. I made this artwork after she passed away. In memory of her, and as a comfort to me, so I could still feel her with me. My grandmother and great-grandmother did cross-stitch, and it is the pattern that forms the background of this artwork.
